Singer D'Angelo was arrested just a few days ago for solicitation after he propositioned an undercover officer.
According to the New York Post, the 36-year-old who's real name is Michael Archer, picked up a woman during the early morning hours and allegedly offered her $40 for oral sex. (What he didn't know was she was an undercover police officer).
Consequently he was arrested and charged with solicitation. The singer also had $12,000 stashed in his SUV.
Previously D’Angelo was arrested in 2005 for driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence in his home state of Virginia. He was fined and received a suspended jail sentence after pleading guilt
This will probably mean that the rumoured upcoming album 'James River' will probably not see the light of day for a while.

A new song has just appeared by the coming of age singer Jojo.
She commented on her MySpace: Just posted a song called “Wait a Minute (For Your Love)” I wrote with Jordan Gatsby a while ago that I wanted to share. It’s just a record that I love, which probably wont make the album (since this doesn’t at all fit the direction…lol) but still represents a genre of music that inspires me. Making this was so much fun. We recorded it at this ill studio in Boston called Sanctum Sound and had some fantastic musicians come in and sprinkle their gifts upon it. Still recording for the album. As we await the new Monica record 'Still Standing' (due March 23), it is great to see that she is returning with a very strong record. The debut single is entitled 'Everything To Me' and is gaining great support through radio.
My love for the song has increase though after seeing the video. The video was directed by Benny Boom has has been done very well.
An album that has caught our attention this week is a debut by Carmen Liana entitled "Who I Am". Her amazing vocals have already earned Liana (pronounced Lie-Anna) backup stints with such popular hit makers as Chaka Khan and Monica. Her voice also graced a 2003 TV and radio advertising campaign for Greyhound.
The album is rich and soulful. Carmen's vocal style sets a neo-soul/urban flow. What I really love other than the great music is that Liana wrote or co-wrote eight of the album's 10 tracks, making her quite the package.
The debut single that we have for you below is 'Luv Me 4ever' which touches on what some may consider a fairy tale dream where two people meet and instantaneous connection like soul mates that will share love forever.
